Founded in 1995, Tilson is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO). Simply put, Tilson provides human resources, benefits, payroll and a host of other services to small and mid-sized businesses. Tilson’s services allow business owners and their team members to free up valuable time from the headaches of everyday employment burdens so they can focus on building a high-performance company.

On March 10, 1995, Brent R. Tilson was working on tax returns for a client when asked if his CPA firm would consider processing payroll for several hundred physical therapists. The mental wheels began to turn as Brent thought about all the ways companies could benefit from an outside organization managing their complex administrative responsibilities such as payroll, benefits, HR and compliance.

Tilson has netted numerous awards and recognitions for its high growth and success – garnering attention for three consecutive years by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in the nation. Brent was a three-time Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, and alumnus of IBJ’s “40 Under 40”.

Today, Tilson acts as a champion for small businesses and entrepreneurs on a local and national scale. During his tenure as chairman of NAPEO, Brent was at the helm for the watershed passage of federal legislation for the industry and most recently worked with legislators on important issues for PEO businesses as the CARES Act was being passed into law. He was recognized in 2021 as the Michaeline A. Doyle Award winner, the PEO industry’s highest honor.

Brent R. Tilson President & CEO

Brent is a nationally recognized author, entrepreneur and industry leader. From his start as a CPA, he has been a champion for small businesses and entrepreneurs. He is the founder and CEO of Tilson, originally established in 1995 in Greenwood, Ind. Brent has grown Tilson into a nationwide business operating in 48 states. Under his direction, Tilson HR has netted numerous awards and recognitions for its high growth and success. He has been very active in supporting his industry both on a local and national basis. During his tenure as chairman of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), he was at the helm for the watershed passage of federal legislation for the industry. 

Julie Long CFO

Julie oversees the Accounting and Operations of Tilson. She has over 25 years of experience in accounting management for small businesses including preparing various types of tax returns and performing consulting services in areas such as QuickBooks. Prior to joining Tilson, Julie served in various roles of accounting including Trust Tax Officer for Bank One, NA (now J.P. Morgan Chase), Accounting Manager for an $8M Service Company, Controller for a $9M holding company with 12 subsidiaries, and a consultant for a national service company to train Accounting Managers. Julie received her bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Indianapolis.

Rob Glass

Rob is responsible for managing the technology and support groups that Tilson uses to serve its clients. Computer infrastructure design and support, database design and management and customer software development are skills that Rob adds to the team. Prior to joining Tilson, Rob was the owner of an IT consulting company for more than 20 years. During that time, Rob both designed the technology that his for-profit and not-for-profit organizations required to meet their goals, and also understood the business needs of each client's unique environment to deliver the most appropriate and cost effective results. Rob holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

Andrea J. Munn
Annelisa Jamison

Andrea J. Munn Director of Operations

Andrea has over 20 years of experience working in the field of Human Resources, including benefits, general operations, strategic planning, and risk management. Andrea holds a B.S. in Public Affairs from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute and certified by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP). In addition to her HR certifications, Andrea also has her Health and Life Insurance license. She is a member of SHRM, serves on the Board of Directors for Human Services Johnson County, Relay for Life of Johnson County, and volunteers regularly at her church.

Annelisa Jamison Director of Quality of Assurance

Annelisa has been with Tilson since 2000 and oversees all PEO state regulatory compliances. She is responsible for coordinating, analyzing and reporting to the various states for annual PEO licenses and other special projects as required. She reviews the system setup for benefit, client onboarding, human resources, payroll and taxes. Annelisa has over 20 years of experience in the accounting field in various industries. Prior to joining Tilson, Annelisa worked for 6 years as the assistant to the controller at a service company. There she was responsible for all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, corporate taxes, payroll taxes and payroll processing. Annelisa has an associate degree in accounting from the International School of Business.

Blair Mulzer

Blair Mulzer Director of Sales & Marketing

Blair brings her expertise to Tilson by developing and executing public relations and strategic communication campaigns, having served clients in various industries across the nation and in Sydney, Australia. She is the recipient of the 2015 and 2016 PRSA Hoosier Pinnacle Award of Honor. In her current position, Blair creates valuable and impactful marketing strategies using digital channels including social media, SEO, CRO, email, paid media and public relations to achieve results. She is passionate about forming valuable engagement with small business leaders to help them find a workforce solution that allows them to build and maintain a high-performance company. Blair holds a degree in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Taylor University.

Chad Collier Vice President of Sales

Chad Collier joined the Tilson team as VP of Sales in 2010. He has over 17 years of combined sales experience in the commercial real estate, health insurance, and PEO industries. His primary responsibility is to increase market share by cultivating long-term relationships with existing and future clients.  His responsibilities include lead origination, networking initiatives, customer service, account management, pipeline management and client acquisition.  Chad has been licensed in Health, Life and Accident insurance in the state of Indiana since 2009 and served in the United States Air Force.

Debra Tilson Executive Assistant

Debbie has been Executive Assistant to the President and CEO for Tilson since April 2015.  Debbie provides executive support and serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the President.  She is responsible for providing varied, complex, and highly confidential liaison, communication, and office administrative assistance to the President; to employ independent judgment in the resolution of problems and to assist the President in maintaining effective and positive work relationships.

John Bush Director of IT Development

John serves as a lead adviser for technology and plays the principal role in the design, development and support for new technology-based solutions for the company.  Web application and API development, database design, micro-services/containerization and development best practices are all skills that John adds to the team. John has been working professionally in technology and application/web development for over 25 years. Prior to joining Tilson in 2007, John worked for six years for a fully insured insurance carrier as manager of expert systems development. He and the staff under his management were responsible for creating multiple internal applications and external business enrollment systems. These systems became the backbone for clients to be able to receive insurance quotes and contract documentation.

Lauryn Temple Client Relationship Manager

Lauryn works to ensure that all clients are receiving excellent service from Tilson and serves as a success partner by proactively looking for ways in which Tilson can help businesses thrive. With over 10 years in customer relations, Lauryn has experience in building meaningful relationships with clients, finding solutions to problems and discovering new ways to bring value to clients. Before joining Tilson, Lauryn worked as a Relationship Banker and a Private Client Banker for JP Morgan Chase. Lauryn holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.

Kylie Henady Workforce Information Systems Manager

Kylie started with Tilson in 2018 in the HR department and now oversees the Workforce Information department. In her role, she ensures benefit enrollment runs smoothly and the accuracy of data entered into the system by her staff.  In 2019, Kylie helped with the implementation of benefit enrollment in the new benefit interface.  She currently resides in Dublin, Ohio. Kylie holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and is certified by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP).
